Chou Ryou Tetsumenpi
Others Sources Translates Name to:
Zhang Liao
Six thousand years ago, he was the leader of the Dairanger and pilot of the red dragon, Ryuuseiou. Tainted by the war and lured by the promise of power and longevity, he became the Gorma High Priest Saw's subordinate. In exchange for power, he led his four teammates into a trap costing their lives. About twenty-three years or so before 1993, he met a beautiful woman and married her. She gave birth to Ryou and Youko, and for five years they were very happy together. But then he was called back to the Gorma. So he faked his death and left them. He took with him only a photograph of his wife and children. He did not phantom that his son would become the Ryuranger. Kaku kept the secret about the father and son until he had to reveal it to save them both. Chouryou was then sent to either retrieve Kaku or kill him. Chouryou captured Rin, Kazu and Daigo along with the High Priest Saw, leaving only a frightened Shouji to relay the message to Kaku.
Ryou tricked Shouji into opening the door to the closet Kaku locked him inside and went after him. Doushi Kaku met Chouryou in battle, and was holding his own decently until distracted by Ryou getting attacked trying to rescue the others. Kaku was injured, and Ryou was captured and beaten by Chouryou. The warrior was ready to kill the most beloved of Kaku's apprentices until Kaku shouted the fact that Ryou was his son. Chouryou saw his wife's eyes in Ryou's eyes and knew it to be true. So he just turned and walked away. Ryou couldn't handle the fact that this traitor slaughtered his own team member and was his supposedly dead father. Although Ryou implored to know how the man who loved his mother could possibly be the same person, Chouryou made no attempt to explain himself. He did leave with Ryo the photograph that was his last relic of his short life as a father and husband. Doushi Kaku was safe, but the Dairanger had to fight High Priest Saw. And that one managed to take them all and was going to kill them. Injured and knowing he would probably die soon, Ryou called for his father. And eventually Chouryou could bear no more. He turned on his master and attempted to kill him. Receiving a fatal blow from High Priest Saw, he collapsed and was dying. Chou Ryou apologized to his son and hoped his wife and daughter could forgive him. Ryou held him close, and the spirits of the four original Dairanger come for him, to tell him they forgave him. He, and the other four, passed on ancient knowledge to their successors before departing this world. And for the first time, the five took their beasts and formed together to destroy High Priest Saw. Ryou had to say goodbye to the father he barely knew.

Roudoshi Guhon
Translation: Grandmaster Yufang
Lin's great grand-uncle and Kaku's mentor, who tends to be bizarre at times and often cracks his neck. He first appears in episode 13. The techno-genius behind the Dairanger's suits and weapons such as the Dairinken he personally gave to them and the Super Chi Power Bazooka he constructed for them. His beloved fiance, Shoukyou, had been kidnapped and was swallowed by the Gorma Kabuki Kid. Guhon was intent to get her back. She was incredibly impressed with her fiance for his will to fight to get her back. His fiance brought him the Byakkoshinken, which they placed within a stone until the Kibaranger could remove it. They married and drove off together. Yufang would occasionally astral project to give Kaku advice. He did reappear in their lives to help find Kameo and convince him to once again become Daimugen.
Shoukyou
She was Roudoshi's twenty-year old and was the custodian of Byakoshinken. She first appeared in Episode 14. She was swallowed up by the Gorma Kabuki Kid. She was incredibly impressed with her fiance for his will to fight to get her back. Together they placed the blade into a holy stone and left it there for the Kou to eventually remove. They married and drove off together. She was not seen again but her husband was.

Kou and Akomaru's Mother
Kou and Akomaru's mother was married to Shaddam. With the fact that Kou is half Dai and Gorma and being that Shaddam was Gorma, then it can deduced that she was from the Dai Tribe. She was a powerful person, strong with the power natural to the Dai and strong with the powers available to a Gorma. No one knew that she bore twins, she could not bear to allow the fate the Gorma would give them. For when twins are born amongst the Gorma, one is killed so that all the power goes to the other. She took one of the newborns and fled, leaving the other being Akomaru for the Gorma to find. She muffled the energy readings of the child she took--Kou, so that the other boy would have greater strength. Somehow she learned that Kou would be the Kiba Ranger. Byakoshinken somehow knew her so it could be assumed they had met before. She burnt a tiger mark on the child's arm which would haunt him for times to come. Four years later, the first surge of Gorma power began to seep from the boy she hid, and she made another decision to seal in his power.
To completely hide Kou's energy readings from the Gorma, she had to keep her son in care of friends far from the Gorma. She was found and taken captive by an elderly Gorma and a boy-child about the age of her own son who she never imagined was her own. For the next almost six years she remained a prisoner, while her jailer Gorma forced her to tell them the origin of the power-surge they had picked up. It wasn't until Shaddam broke into the place where they were holding her, trying to find out where Akomaru was getting all his information, was when the truth finally set in for everyone. It was Shaddam that confirmed that Akomaru was the son that she had sacrificed and never had the chance to love him the way she wanted to. She had plenty of love left for Akomaru. She would haunt him as his moral conscious. She used the Byakoshinken to save a wounded Kou. She died in a cave collapse along with Akomaru, the son she barely knew and loved with all her heart.
